Katherine Banos is a Los Angeles based bi-coastal artist. She grew up in Syosset, New York on Long Island and has her BFA in Acting from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts [Experimental Theater Wing & Stonestreet Studios]. Her teachers and mentors include Jessica Hecht, Estelle Parsons, and Terry Knickerbocker.
Katherine has extensive experience in the entertainment industry, including working for NBCUniversal, the Public Theater, Shakespeare Center of LA, the Lark Play Development Center, CBS Primetime Casting, Scott Rudin Productions, and the Williamstown Theatre Festival. She is currently a tour guide at Universal Studios. This fall she returned to the role of Lady Macbeth in Shakespeare Center of LA's immersive production of MACBETH, directed by former RSC member Kenn Sabberton.
Her proudest accomplishment to date is launching her production company LEXINGTON PRODUCTIONS with her producing partner, Madison Tower. Together they produced a short film, RING OF FIRE, written by and starring Katherine. The film has been an official selection of twenty one film festivals so far. NOMINATIONS: 7 awards Indie Short Fest (including Best Women Short, Best Actress, & Best Acting Duo), 5 awards Hang on to Your Shorts! Film Festival (including Best short and Best Leading Actress), 3 awards at the Glendale International Film Festival (including Best Actress and Best Film about Female Empowerment), 1 award at the Shawna Shea Festival (Best Leading Actress), 6 awards at the Low to No Film Festival, & Finalist at the Austin Indie Fest. WINS: 2 awards at the Low to No Film Festival (Best Leading actress and Best Director), Award of Distinction at the Canada Shorts Film Festival, 3 awards at the Indie Short Fest (Outstanding Achievement Best Women Short, Outstanding Achievement Best Female Director, & Best Sound Editing), and New York Movie Awards (Honorary mention: Best Short).
